Shillong Tertiary Care Institute
Shillong, Meghalaya · 2024
A 320-bed tertiary facility engineered for seismic resilience and monsoon-ready infrastructure in the Eastern Himalayas.
Context
The Eastern Himalayas demand structures that respect both seismic energy and extreme seasonal rainfall. Gavion Group led integrated structural, MEP coordination, and construction sequencing for this greenfield hospital — aligning India’s clinical standards with constructible detailing suited to highland logistics.
Delivery approach
We deployed digital layout validation before slab pours, reducing rework on penetrations and medical gas risers. Field teams used a single source of truth for QA checklists, ensuring infection-control boundaries were never compromised during phased handover.
Outcomes
The institute now operates with redundant power paths, a resilient envelope, and expansion sleeves for future bed towers — proof that precision engineering and compassionate healthcare can share the same foundation.
